Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton was born January 7, 1985. Hamilton's mother, Carmen Larbalestir (now Carmen Lockhart) white Gibbons. His father, Anthony Hamilton, - son of a black immigrant from Grenada. Parents gave the name of Lewis in honor of the legendary American athlete Carl Lewis.
